More About Sports Therapy
A Sports Therapist is an integral part of your Sport, Fitness and Exercise. The focal point of a Sports Therapist is prevention and treatment of your exercise based injuries. Their objective is to keep you exercising and competing at your optimum level where physically possible.
Sports Therapy is a specialised title that may be used by individuals who have completed a course in a Sports Therapy programme at various educational levels. A university-based Sports Therapy graduate is someone who is soundly educated in fitness and exercise science, with specific knowledge and understanding of the principles that go into your particular sporting performance. This knowledge and understanding allows your therapist to maximise your sporting preparation and performance, as well as sports injury and/or re-injury prevention.
Your sports therapist will be able to work alongside you to recognise and evaluate any issues that may hinder your sport/exercise preparation, performance or rehabilitation. These areas will be individually and specifically managed and treated according to your own specific needs and requirements.
